COMPOSITE Bonding

Composite bonding may be an alternative to veneers and can be used as a restorative procedure to correct teeth that are chipped, cracked, discolored or misshapen.

How does bonding work?

The tooth is prepared for composite bonding by lightly etching the surface and applying a bonding liquid. Your dentist selects a matching shade, then the composite resin is applied, light cured and sculpted into the desired shape. Once set, the resin is adjusted, smoothed and polished to a natural appearance.

Considerations for Composite Bonding

The bonding procedure can often be completed in a single office visit, and can improve the appearance of a tooth significantly. However, since the composite resin used is not as strong as your natural tooth enamel, it may stain and chip again if not properly cared for.
